Eco Friendly Water Features

29 11 2011

The world is going eco friendly in every area of our homes. If it isn’t new energy saving light bulbs it will be taps that help conserve water. But this doesn’t only help the world; it also keeps you from spending too much money on utilities. And one of the best new ways to do this is saving on those water features that use energy all day, every day.

Instead of buying an outdoor water fountain you plug in there’s an alternative method that uses solar power. Solar fountains are a must have in your garden and still come in the great styles that normal fountains came in. If you like your garden to be more futuristic then the Cannonade Outdoor Solar Floor Fountain is the best looking style. I have two of these in my garden and both run on solar power, no electricity needed.

The solar panel size depends on the size of fountain you get, but can be placed nearby in order to gather the sunlight. Some people believe this to be an eye sore, but after a while you forget it’s there. And when you think about it saving you money then you wonder why you never used it before.

The strange thing is that when you first buy eco friendly products you soon get into a different frame of mind. Before buying them you might not have cared about helping the world. But now that you see how efficient they can be, you want more and more. Now you just have to look what other features are eco friendly.

Good Luck Charm: Water Fountains

3 11 2011

I’m not a superstitious person, but I think my water fountains bring me good luck. I have around 5 or 6 tabletop fountains in the house, and my wife says I can’t have anymore. And each one gives me a good feeling when I enter the room. Though there’s one which is more special than most.

The special garden fountain is outside. It brings the garden to life and is one of the focus points for when we have guests. I bought it online and is called the Provence outdoor floor fountain. It’s a larger size than my other fountains and on occasion, I’ll throw a coin in and make a wish. I’m not the only person to do this, as friends and family have also done the same.

I can say whether it works for other people. But it certainly brings me luck. Just the other day I threw a coin in the fountain that I had found in the garden. I went back inside my home and got an e-mail from a website company. They had replied to a competition I’d entered online and said that I was a winner. I couldn’t stop smiling, though my wife wasn’t as happy.

When the competition prize turned up at home I opened the box and saw my brand new wall fountain! I’d never had a wall fountain before and the truth is, I never thought I’d have one. But because I won, here it was, and it looked great. Wall fountains could be my next approach to making the home look better.
