What is face material? It is where the water runs on the water fountain. What are some of the most popular face material?

Lets start with the slate. There is lightweight slate wall fountains and solid slate wall fountains.  The major difference between these two slates are the weight. The solid slate is about 1″ to 1 1/2″ thick. it will weigh about 120 to 300 pounds depending on the size. The light weight slate is a thin slice of the solid slate, 1/8″  to 1/16″ thick. This is then attached to a hard backing board. From the front of the fountain this slate will look like the solid. Just the sides look different.

 

Next week have Glass or Mirror wall fountains and Floor fountains with glass or mirror. This is a smooth slick surface that was can shine on. The glass or mirror comes in many colors and textures too.
