I grew up in household with a lot of beliefs, particularly feng shui, which is developed by the Chinese some 3000 years ago. Feng shui has been believed to have an impact on the energies of a certain space that when properly arranged may give good health and even fortune to those people inhabiting the place.

One thing I could never forget about feng shui that my grandmother told me was about the great energy water contains, that is evidently found in water fountains. She spoke of feng shui fountains as sources of good luck for a household – and behold we had one in our ancestral home.

Fountains are well known in feng shui; they are believed to carry the energy and vitality of water, which in feng shui symbolizes fortune and wealth. When feng shui fountains are situated indoors, healthy energy is diffused into the air surrounding the household.

The area where you place your feng shui fountains speaks of different types of energy given. If you want your career to succeed, place your feng shui fountain on the north; for health, have it in the east and for abundance in life, situate it in the southeast part of the household.

I have been exposed to these kinds of beliefs ever since I was a child; however, I haven’t actually brought the practice to my own home today. At some point, I wanted to and then at times, I didn’t. These beliefs may have molded some people’s approach on things and even the way the see things, but I belief that fortune is what you make of it. Having a feng shui fountain wouldn’t hurt; after all, it also makes a good decorative add-on to the house.

Make Your Own Outdoor Water Fountain
